Card Art Leak

0

Yes, it is true!  We have given certain individuals the permission to put out some of our pre-production card images that were incidentally leaked a few months back.  Honestly, with the game being printed within the next couple of weeks, we feel that now would be the time to build interest in the game beyond the player based that we’ve been playtesting with, and reaching out across the other corners of the internet.

We are proud to present to you the logo for the backs of the card…  The very symbol of our first game to climb the ladder of conception, to complete fruition!

Phillies and Gentlecolts, I present to you: “Are You A Changeling?”

Going To TrotCon!

Howdy everypony!

We know that it’s been quite a while since we last posted, but don’t think that that means nothing’s been going on!  Our Pegacorn Prince has been working his magic PRETTY hard as of late, and because of it, Equestria Inspired is now officially a Guest of Honor for TrotCon!  This wonderful convention understands the importance of what we’re doing, and the efforts we’re going through to fill the void that is the My Little Pony RPG and party gaming situation.  They’re giving us a WONDERFUL opportunity to highlight, playtest, and even SELL our games there, and we get to do this from our very own tabletop gaming room at the convention!

You heard me right:  I said “Sell”!  We have been doing some major work on “Are You A Changeling?”, and within the next 6 weeks, we should have all of the art put together, have it printed and ready for sale!  That’s right!  By TrotCon, we’ll have the core set (All three value sets!) printed up and ready for sale!

We can’t wait to see everypony there!  More news on the games we’ve got coming to TrotCon, coming up soon!

We’re still here, and working hard!

That’s right!  Although a certain Prince of Inspireland has been slacking off on his royal duties as of late I have taken an extended vacation that turned out to be much longer than anticipated <.<  I have returned with plenty of good news!

First off, “Are You A Changeling?” has skyrocketed in fame, as it has been playtested all over the country now, from all over Illinois, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio, to Florida and even a few states in the west!  Everypony is falling over eachother to play this game, and it makes me ever-so-proud that the creations of Equestria Inspired are helping ponies everywhere unite and defy the laws of cliques and band together to enjoy party gaming at it’s finest!

Unfortunately, due to the popularity of the game and it’s playtesting, it has come to my attention that there is a group out west that, after playing this game, have taken it and changed it to make the roles fit characters from the show, AYAC is being made to be non-show specific, so that we can make and sell the game without fear of copyright infringement and all of those legal issues that would injure the enjoyment that we’ve been working so hard to put together and offer to all of you!  I hope that whomever has altered the game does not attempt to publish, and tarnish our game with it getting hit with a Cease and Desist that we’ve been seeing Hasbro giving out in full swing as of late (RIP Fighting Is Magic, and may whatever Lauren Faust is helping you do make it even better than before!)  If you are reading this, whomever you may be, PLEASE do not endanger this project with your actions!  Equestria Inspired is VERY flattered that you like our game so very much that you’ve decided to take it home with you to show your friends, and we understand that changing the names of the roles to characters of the show might make it easier to remember the roles on beginners, it also means that if Hasbro catches wind of what you’re doing, this whole project gets shut down :(   And LOTS of ponies miss out on all of the future fun…

Anyways, onto the good news!  “Are You A Changeling?” has been getting LOTS of rigorous playtesting, along with it’s four, yes FOUR different expansions that are already under way with scheming up and working on how they impact the game’s balance, and all the fun and excitement that they add to the base game!  Here’s a sneak-peek at what each expansion involves, after the break!

Midwest Furfest!!

0

We’re back!  After some moving things around, and preparing for the big overhaul, we’ve come back online to get the ball rolling!

First off:  We’re at Midwest Furfest again!  Such a wonderful convention chock FULL of wonderful Bronies, we HAD to go again, after such an amazing time was had last year!  I’ll be hosting several panels along with a HEAP of pony-themed gaming that I’ve come up with (the infamous “Are You A Changeling?”, TOON!, and Inspireland systems that have been in the works for so long now!)  Stop on by in the tabletop gaming rooms, as that’s where I’ll surely be all weekend long (except during the Friday and Saturday night panels both starting at 10 pm!)

As normal with cons, some small mini-posts might be finding their way up here, as I’ll be playing with my WordPress Android App to instantly upload awesomeness, so stay tuned!

Second: We’re proud to announce that our secret Kickstarter project to produce our wonderful “Are You A Changeling?” game, and have them delivered directly to you, upon successful funding!  The project is currently still pending, but so long as all things go according to plan, it should be accepted and ready to launch within the next day or two!  When this happens, of COURSE we’ll be making another post here!

I sure am excited, as this game has been very rigorously playtested, and I’ve been told on several accounts to “Shut up, and take my money!”, so I’ve decided to respond to such requests by taking the game to a whole new level, now that I believe it’s ready to go out to the rest of the world!  Keep your eyes peeled for more!

Big Overhaul On It’s Way!

1

That’s right, everypony!  Equestria Inspired is being reforged to be better than ever!

Between everything that’s been going on behind-the-scenes, and how amazingly awesome and wonderiffic Midwestria was, Equestria Inspired will be revamped and refocused towards gaming in general, as:

A) That’s what I’m all about, honestly

B) The whole super-general thing here isn’t really working well

C) We’re developing some awesome games for everypony to enjoy, so why not focus on them, and give you all more information on what you can only find here?

D) Because Rainbow Dash came to me in my sleep, and told me to doso <.<  So I can’t really say ‘no’

Tell me what you think in a comment below!

Midwestria Update! :D It’s getting close!

0

We have a few very exciting guest announcements for all of you this week as well as some info on events and panels that will be taking place during Midwestria.

To start off the guest announcements, Charlotte Fullerton, writer for episodes such as, Look Before You Sleep, Suited For Success, A Bird in the Hoof, May the Best Pet Win!, and Baby Cakes, will be joining us. We’re happy to add yet another show writer to our guest roster and hope that you’re all as excited about Charlotte as we are!

We’re also incredibly excited to announce the first couple of musicians we have lined up for the event. Performing at Midwestria will be community musicians Eurobeat Brony and EHT. Both of these musicians will be performing some of your favorite songs in one of the two concerts we will be putting on for the attendees. EHT will also be putting on a panel on the musical process so, all of you aspiring musicians will want to make sure to check that out!

We at Midwestria are putting on several special events this year. You can find out more about a couple of these events here as well as finding full info on our website.

The Running of the Leaves 5k Charity Race is just as it sounds, a friendly race for anypony to attend that directly supports a local community charity: Friends for Therapeutic Equine Activities http://www.ftea.org

Friends for Therapeutic Equine Activities is a not-for-profit, 501(c) (3) charitable organization founded for the express purpose of providing and conducting therapeutic equestrian activities for people with disabilities. Participants come to FTEA either as individuals or in groups from schools, rehabilitation centers and other health care agencies. FTEA is unique not only because of its use of the horse as a means of therapy, but because it provides individualized therapeutic activities to people of all ages and disabilities. Programs focus on ability rather than disability in a safe and enjoyable environment. FTEA is located in the western suburbs of Chicago.
These charities rely on our support to help take care of their horses (and ponies!) and provide services to help out people in need. Registration for the Running of the Leaves is now open on our website. Registration requires a $15 minimum donation. This donation gets you a special Running of the Leaves t-shirt and all other profits go towards Friends for Therapeutic Equine Activities.

We will be holding an Iron Artist competition. This competition will pit 4 artists against each other in a 3 day event in which they will each be given a secret subject and must produce a work of art in the given time limit. This event will culminate in an all out battle between the final two artists to see who is in fact the Iron Artist!

Get your dancing shoes ready and get ready to dance the night away! We will be holding three separate dances over the weekend. The first dance is our Grand Galloping Gala. Formal wear is required to enter the gala but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be a stuffy affair. We’ll have dance lessons beforehand for those of you with two left hooves and a live band playing all night. Following the Gala on Friday night and standing on it’s own Saturday night, we will be holding two informal dances for those of you who feel more comfortable with glowsticks in hand.

On top of all of our main events, we’ll be featuring panels throughout the weekend. Examples of some panels you’ll be able to see at Midwestria include How to Make Your Own Custom Pony, Dusty Old Books, Background Ponies of MLP:FiM, Rarity is Best Pony and many more!
More announcements on other such events are coming soon both here and on the website so make sure to have your eyes peeled.

Pre-Registration is only $40 and will be open until September 7th. We don’t have an attendance cap so keep those registrations coming in!

We are still looking for a handful of staffers. Staff receive a free badge and the possibility of a discounted hotel room in exchange for 8 hours of work a day. To apply to be on staff fill out the staff application located here.

We have a limited number of rooms left for the weekend. So, if you plan on staying at the hotel, make sure you reserve your room soon! Reservation information can be found here.

We still have a very limited number of spots open in our Artist Alley. Artist tables cost $80 for the weekend and include one badge. To apply for Artist Alley or for more information please go to our Artist Alley page.

Next Show July: 5th!

0

That’s right, fillies and gentlecolts!  The next show will be next week, July 5th!  Along with this new episode, comes a new chapter in the life of Equestria Inspired (curse you Discord, for messing with my banner!!)  Our host that we used to stream on is no more, but alas, every cloud has a silver lining!  Due to the help of our wonderful A/V pony (whom also just joined the team just a few days ago!  Welcome, Pony without a name!), we’ve spoken to the ponies who work Celestia Radio, and now we shall be hosted by them from here on out!

I cannot explain how excited I am for this change-of-pace, because there’ll be so many listeners now…  More ponies for call-ins and interviews…  I’m so giddy, I could squeal (but I won’t <.<)  Thank you Celestia Radio for your awesomeness, and I cannot wait to enjoy working with all the ponies there!

See you all on July 5th!

Huzzah!  AnthroCon sure was a blast!  Despite having all weekend, I only managed to play-test each of my converted games only a few times (with the exception to “Are You A Changeling?” because each session is rather short, but essentially only a few hours of playtesting time), we had so much fun!  I ended the weekend with a count of 1,578 bro-hooves from my fellow con-goers!  It was a blast, and the coolest part was, that no matter who you were, or what was going down, if another Brony saw you with an MLP shirt of any kind, there was always a Bro-hoof to follow!

It’s so amazing, seeing literally thousands of people in one central location, going about their daily con-going lives, like a mass of people walking through the streets of Chicago, not caring about anyone they’re walking by, never thinking twice about it, and just staying focused on their own little world…  And then the sight of a little pony on someone’s shirt rips them out of their world, and makes them instant buddies, with hugs and bro-hooves, and smiles abound!  It matters not if they’ve ever met eachother before!  It’s purely magical!  The fact that a single tv show built for 8 year old girls has single-hoofedly and (so very quickly!) revolutionized one of the core ways humans interact with eachother…  It’s a psychological and anthropological impossibility!  Like, seriously, I cannot even BEGIN to put into words at how amazing this weekend was, not only for all of the cool shopping I’ve done (Love me my pony swag!), all of the amazing times I’ve had chatting, chilling and RPing with fellow Bronies, but also from the people-watching I’ve done!  All of the behavioral pattern differences I’ve noticed between people…  It was super-insightful, and just…  Just “Wow”

Thank you, everypony who went to the super-rockin’ panel that myself and Timothy Fay (aka Tympany) ran, and also to everypony who helped me playtest all the games that I’ve tailored to fit the My Little Pony world!  The weekend was great, and I will admit that I feel truly inspired to keep working on these games to make them even better, in the long run!  Thank you all so much for such a wonderful time, and I hope that our paths cross again! :D

Travel: AnthroCon

0

That’s right!  Your hooded host will soon be on his way to AnthroCon!  It’s in a very large hotel and connected converntion center, and it’s a lot of fun!  I’ll be working side-by-side with the amazing Timothy Fay, like I did in November, and the My Little Pony panel is going to be great!  We’re going to have another awesome raffle, along with a guest speaker on BronyCon’s behalf, as well as a “guest speaker” on behalf of Midwestria (me!)

Over the course of the weekend, I’ll be making a few mini-posts to the site, seeing as I have the WordPress app for my phone (which kicks a TON of flank!) and will allow me to instantly upload and post pictures I take to the site!  It’s really awesome, and I can’t wait to take advantage of it during the weekend, so I can show off all the super-awesome pony merchandise I come across!

Also, I will finally have a chance to play-test all three of my MLP role-playing games there, so between the panel, buying up ponymerch, and all the gaming, I’m going to be one busy pegacorn this weekend! (It reminds me of a more fun version of running my kingdom back home!)

Do you want to know all about the games that I’ll be running this weekend?  I’ll be making updates on the site during some exciting gameplay moments, and if you want to learn a bit more about the systems, then read about them, after the break!
