Yesterday was full of fun and friendship for the Midwest Bronies!  I had the chance to visit with many loving and caring ponies, and boy, what a blast it was!  So many ponies brought guitars (Apparently, the meetup was music-themed!)  Many ponies watched the day’s new episode featuring our favorite little Spikey-wikey, and there were cupcakes aplenty!  I got to sit down and chat with many of the local population, and I even learned that our wonderful guest speaker from this month’s live broadcast, Sureshot, was there!

The meetup was only scheduled to be for a couple of hours, alas, we ended up having so much fun between discussing latest episodes, (over)analyzing the philosophies and psychology of the writers and the characters (guilty!  I blame my inner-psychologist!), trading McDonald’s pony toys to make sure that we all got our full sets, and so much more, our meetup went well into the night!  I was quite thrilled, because one pony took particular interest in my fanfic that I’ve been writing, and the philosophies and magic behind it!  This being the first time anyone’s been really interested in knowing more about my writing, whilst I was explaining some things, he helped me learn that before I can write anything, I REALLY make a huge base, to make sure everything fits.  I’ve read stories and seen shows when I was young, where they get a good thing going, but because of either a lack of foresight, or just a lack of a world-platform ahead-of-time, the problems tend to be solved with “Oh, well it’s a good thing we have this one thing stored on-board that was never discussed before, but of course it’ll solve the problem we’ve been dealing with for ages!  We’re saved!”  *Cough* Star Trek *Cough*  S’cuse me!  I’ve seen that so much, and it really turned me off to whatever I was reading that would deploy such methods, so, I guess I’ve sorta went a bit far in the complete opposite direction!  I spend SO much time planning the world, how it works, how the history played out, the metaphysics of things, the economy, the social infrastructures…  I get SO into developing everything to make sure that that super-convenience ISN’T necessary, that I tend to spend very little time writing!

So, enough about what I learned!  The day was beautiful, and despite the hour-long drive to get there (I was never a fan of driving for some odd reason), the weather made it exquisite!  It was the first time in almost half of a year, that I could drive with my windows down, blasting music ranging from d.notive and zahqo, to MandoPony, to RainbowCrash88!  The warm, gentle breeze blowing through my mane….  That sun that gives that light twinge after a while, to your skin, reminding me that I spend too much time indoors…  The smell of wood-burning smoke as I drive near more residential-based areas…  It was like an adventure all on my own!  I know that tonight, I sure-as-Celestia am going to have a nice fire outside, so I may sit, enjoy the stars, the sound of the local fauna waking up and flourishing after such a long cold-season, and enjoying the fact that Spring is FINALLY here!  It makes me think just how wonderful it would be, if we were able to wrap up winter like the unicorns of Canterlot do.  A one-day transition sure would be convenient!

Alas, here I am rambling now…  It was a wonderful day over all, the local bronies and I had SO much fun, AND I managed to get some of the locals interested in the tabletop campaign I want to run (My Little Pony themed, of course!) and I might finally have a group to run it for!  Huzzah for finally bringing the Forest Kingdom of Inspireland to life!
